Who Are The Beatkangz?

The Beatkangz are a hot new production team formed through the collective work of three underground "Dirty South" Hip-Hop veterans. The collective includes (L-R) Luke "Boom Bap" Jackson (Dope Sound Productions), Aja "A.J.A." Emanuel (JetStream Productions), and Reavis "Rev" Mitchell (Soulbeat Productions). For several years, these talented young entrepreneurs have cultivated the Hip-Hop scene in the south-eastern U.S. by producing, recording, and independently marketing and distributing music that has long been kept underground by the mainstream establishment. By staying true to the art and continuing to innovate fearlessly, they have gathered a healthy share of street cred. But their talent is not just appreciated underground. Their skillful use of fresh concepts and guerilla tactics has helped them secure ad gigs with Coca-Cola, Auto-Zone, and The American Bottler's Association among others. Their production has been heard in venues ranging from house parties, block parties and DJ Booths to MTV2, USA Networks and ABC Family. They've worked with projects that range from the Indie "out tha trunk" operations to the Sony Music powerhouse. Honors include nine awards at the 2004 D.C. Addys, two 2005 Detroit Music Awards, and a 1999 Nashville Music Award. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, a production and recording hotspot, this innovative crew has reinvented the way Hip-Hop is produced and marketed. Now with the help of ZOOM corp., Tokyo, they've raised the bar by changing the way a new generation of Hip-Hop producers will create. This newest innovation is called the Streetboxx SB-246.
